Weekend Travels

Last weekend was a busy one. I had an opportunity to begin the weekend camping at a friends property and ended the weekend shopping at the annual Gypsy Caravan Flea Market. {More to come on that.}
The weather here was perfect for camping, warm and breezy during the day, and cool and breezy at night. The property we camped on is a total of twenty acres in the middle of farm country. And it’s beautiful. And peaceful.

We set up Friday afternoon, went to a local fish-fry for dinner and relaxed around a fire in the evening.
Just waiting for the match.

Enjoyed a glass or two of our favorite adult beverage.

Home Sweet Home

Saturday was lots of lounging and enoying my favorite magazines. This is where I spent much of my day. And yes, with my faithful pooch, Buddy, a.k.a. the Bud Man. Twenty acres to run around, and he sits on my lawn chair with me.

We went into the nearest little town on Saturday to use the computers at the library. It was time to announce the giveaway winner here at the Cottage. Isn’t this the cutest little library? It’s a Carnegie library and is over 100 years old and very well taken care of.

The property doesn’t have any modern conveniences . Like water. Or electricity. No electricity isn’t a problem really, and we bring water with us. We have worked out an outdoor shower over the years. It began with two privacy fence sections I thrifted from a trash pile in an alley. Add a plastic pallet, a shower bag warmed in the sun, and? Here you go folks. The sun warms the bag of water during the day, and you have a hot shower in the evening. It’s amazing how well it all works.
Ha! Can you say Clampetts?

Here is the view while showering. Gotta love the great outdoors.

Down the road a piece is an old one room school house. That's it, at the top of the hill on the left.
Sadly, it's all grown over with vines now. I did manage to get one decent photo there.
Mornings on the property are beautiful.
And before you know it, it was time to pack it all up and head back to civilization.
More to come on my finds at the Gypsy Caravan Flea Market.

Hi. Is Buddy a Springer or a Cocker? I have a Springer. He's so cute. I can't wait to see what you got at the market.

Your trip looks so peaceful and relaxing. I can't wait to see what you picked up at the market. I just know I am going to be jealous, I can feel it in my bones! Buddy is so cute. Henry (who's a springer) wouldn't know what to do with 20 acres!

It's so pretty there! I love old abandoned buildings and I really love that picture you took of the doorknob.

You are a good woman. I think I would have cried if I had to shower outside like that.

But, everything besides the shower looked like you had a beautiful getaway. And that's no tent! That's the Taj Mahal of tents!

Oh, and that picture of the doorknob is incredible.
