picture the holidays & winners

This isn't one of the prompts for Picture the Holidays, but I couldn't resist sharing it. Heh.
The Bud man loves me.
"why you put lights on me Mom?
 not funny.
stop laughing.
where my treat?"
This may be this year's Christmas card.

Day five ~ the view from here. I love Christmas lights. I have always loved driving around after dark looking at homes all decked out for the season. From simple displays to over-the-top-Christmas-Vacation-style light shows. I love all of them.

Day six ~ every little thing. Amid the boxes of ornaments and decorations I came across this one. Such a little thing.  An angel, handmade with love from corn husks. Each year when I unwrap it, I am flooded with memories. My great Aunt made this for me nearly 50 years ago. It always makes me smile and remember Christmases when I was little and the Grandparents and Aunts and Uncles all came to our house for the holiday. The house was full of family and the joy of the season.

Day seven ~ express yourself.   I was feeling a bit overwhelmed. Decorations and crafts and gifts strewn all over the house. Nothing completed, everything in a state of half-finished. {much of it still is, truth be told}
Ah well, 'tis the season right?

So, lets get to the winners of my little drawing.

Gail wins the Christmas flash cards, Anita wins the set of sheet music tags and Debby wins a set of Santa tags. Thanks to everyone for leaving comments. Ladies, email me your address and I'll get them out right away.

Today begins 14 days of holiday musing with the Mortal Muses. Be sure to stop by and join us each day. There will be a different prompt, giveaway and linky party each day.

See you there.

Yay! So excited I won! I love those little tags. Can't wait to get them. Thanks so much :)

Awww, poor Buddy! He looks so sweet. I will have to try to wrestle Henry to get this shot. I really love that last shot and the reflection off the floor!

Maureen, I just love the pic of "Bud" he is so cute. My Sam would give me the same expression and commentary, anything for a treat and your approval.

I was hoping that I won the puppy. That puppy is adorable. Is it a St. Charles Spaniel. We have a Springer Spaniel and it looks like a puppy S.S.
But anyway, I am a happy winner. Loved all three of these gifts. Sending you my email.
Thank you.

That first shot may be my favorite holiday photo this season - so adorable - you can almost see his emotions.

Love all these - the one of the Bud man is great but he is definitely not smiling! How did you do the bokeh in the second one? Love it! But the best is the corn husk doll. What I love best about decorating is all the memories that get unpacked as well.

These photos are wonderful and I agree with Gail that the first one would make a gorgeous Christmas card!

HaHa! I was surprised to see I won something I didn't even enter only to find another Gail among the comments:)

Love these photos! I am participating in Picturing the Holidays too but only through BigPictureClasses...I just can't manage the whole Facebook thing. I will admit that I am WAY behind tho:)

There is just not enough time in a day is there??

Seasons greeting to you. I so enjoy visiting your bog and I am always in such a hurry to stop and tell you so. What stopped me in my boots today was seeing your wonderful Spaniel all decked out. What a splendid Christmas greeting to send to your friends. Cheers from Ottawa Canada.
