The power of one little word. It can be amazing.
Have you chosen your One Little Word for 2013?
I think I've finally settled on the word Balance. It's something I constantly struggle with. I tend to be all in with whatever project I'm currently working on, to the exclusion of everything else. With quite a number of projects on the list for 2013, I know that I have to find a balance between all work and no play and spending time simply enjoying the moment or spending time with family and friends.
Each year I've chosen a word, I've had a pendant I could wear as a reminder of my word.
I have chosen a word for the last four years, and feel like each word, carefully chosen, has served me well. In 2010 I chose Dream. I had to push myself to dream, and dream big. I did, and wow, amazing things happened. 2011 was Believe. Once I learned to dream big, I had to remind myself to believe in my dreams and myself as I pushed myself to pursue opportunities outside of my comfort zone.
Last year's word was Courage, and there were times when I would reach up and take hold of my pendant, close my eyes and remind myself to have courage as I tried new, and just a little scary, things.
I am hopeful that wearing a pendant with my word Balance, will remind me to find that balance, to make sure I find the time to enjoy the journey.
Recently I've added One Word charms to my Etsy shop. I type them with my vintage Remette onto vintage ledger paper.
I also make pendants using a vintage stamp set. Using the stamps and vintage papers, I create initial pendants. They can be worn alone or with your word pendant.
I also offer a pendant that has an initial stamped on one side, and a word of your choice typed on the other.
What about you? Do you make resolutions? Do you choose a OLW? If you do, I'd love to know what you've chosen, and if you care to share, what prompted you to choose that word.
Here's to a fabulous 2013!
Thanks for stopping by,
Maureen

Maureen, this is an excellent idea! I love your word and your inspiring necklaces. I am participating in OLW for the first time this year and my word is PEACE. Wishing you all the best with your new line. :)
Hello friend!
"Balance" was my first OLW back in 2009. It still empowers me today as do my other OLW's that I choose each year.
For 2013 I have chosen "Surrender" as I want to move on from being caught up in what could be, what should be, or holding on to shouldas, couldas and wouldas, so I'm simply going to attempt to surrender more to what is.
Love your OLW pendant charms and will pop over to esty and purchase one.
Be well dear friend.

Excellent word, friend!
And I LOVE your pendants.
Your OLW pendants are a great idea!
A fantastic addition to your jewelry store!
My OLW for this year is "Wonder". Each day I think of it and find some wonder in what surrounds me...past words have been gather, restore, embrace, and indulge:)
Great work love the idea!
This pendant designs are unique! Thanks for sharing them. I'm trying to find stores that sell these in our area, luckily, I found one. I could play with a little typography in my accessories now!
I love the idea of the initial being stamped on one side of the pendant. I think this will also work for personalized jewelries! I can’t wait to try this myself with some of my jewelry.
